Capacity is maintained at the Centre’s Licensed Level. Contacting the Director you can inquire on availability. Families have the option of being placed on a “Wait List”.
Centre Director will consult the Wait List for the next child to fill the vacancy in the age category needed. Example: A Toddler ages into the 3 year old room, the vacancy is for a Toddler. The parent / guardian is given the first option to fill the vacancy. If that family declines the next family in line is contacted.
This is a very common question and the answer is no! Our centre registers children from the age of 12 months – ECS. This transition is accomplished by our staff working with the parents/guardians to achieve this goal by the age of 3.
Young children may require a nap to re-energize their minds and bodies for the rest of the day. We do encourage nap time or taking a rest by darkening the rooms, playing soft music and creating a relaxing environment most conducive for a good rest. Staff will rub children’s backs to help the child(ren) to relax and fall asleep. The children sleep on cots or in cribs.
Children, who do not wish to nap, are engaged in quiet activities (puzzles/playdough etc) to do while the other children nap.
We use passive discipline which means no staff at Bridlewood is to ever use physical force to implement discipline onto a child. We explain right behavior versus wrong behavior through showcasing the positive and negative effects of their actions. We also do not implement the use of time outs and we will work together with our families to find alternative forms of reinforcing positive behavior. For further clarification in these matters, please consult the Centre Director.
We will walk children to and from school if the child goes to the school located across the street from our centre.
